Exult, Inc. the leading provider of integrated services for HR Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) has struck two significant deals in quick succession.

Exult and SmartForce, the world's largest e-learning company, announced that they have entered into a strategic relationship to deliver advanced e-learning solutions to the Global 500. The six-year deal is expected to have a value of between US $ 15 and US $ 28 million over the term.

SmartForce e-learning will be integrated into Exult's eHR service offering so as to allow Exult's Global 500 clients to make the entire range of SmartForce e-Learning solutions available across their enterprises.

'We are very pleased to partner with Exult to deliver e-Learning solutions to the Global 500,' said Greg Priest, Chairman and CEO of SmartForce. 'The Exult model continues to gain attention in the marketplace and this relationship marries the strengths of two market leaders while giving SmartForce a powerful new channel into a critical segment of the enterprise market.'

'We believe this agreement is exceptional in its scope of offerings and will allow Exult to deliver to our clients the productivity enhancements enabled by e-Learning technology and the cost savings made possible through our preferred provider relationships,' said Kevin Campbell, Exult's Chief Operating Officer.

In a related development following fast on the heels of the SmartForce deal, Exult has also signed a ten-year HR process management contract with International Paper. Exult will apply its business process expertise to refine the transactional and administrative systems used in delivering HR services to International Paper US employees covered under the scope of the contract.

Under the terms of the agreement, Exult will assume responsibility for managing key core administrative HR services for International Paper, including payroll, benefits administration, service delivery (human resources call centre management), HR information services and systems support. Exult will also assume responsibility for various third-party providers related to these processes. The transaction is expected to generate revenues to Exult of approximately US $ 600 million over the life of the contract.

'This agreement supports International Paper's focus on finding innovative ways to introduce business efficiencies, thus allowing us to better focus on strategic HR business issues,' said Jerry Carter, senior vice president, Human Resources for International Paper.

'We are very pleased to provide International Paper with a comprehensive HR process management solution that can extend its excellence in the provision of HR services, while supporting the company's strategic business objectives,' said Exult's chairman and CEO, Jim Madden. 'We look forward to working with International Paper to develop an expansive, mutually beneficial business partnership.'
