Schindler Selects ADP GlobalView® for Single-Source Payroll Service Across Europe

Schindler, largest supplier of escalators and second-largest manufacturer of elevators worldwide, has just decided to outsource its payroll and HR transaction processes to ADP in Europe. In less than two years, thanks to our unique template-based service offering, ADP GlobalView®, we will process payslips for Schindler’s 16,000 employees across 14 European countries.

Schindler has been working on its European HR process alignment project since 2003. Its recent decision to trust ADP is surely a milestone in its multi-country HR outsourcing project. By January 2008, we will process payroll for two-thirds of the escalator and elevator manufacturer's European workforce before serving all its European employees within 24 months.

Three years ago, not even we could offer such rapid deployment that is fully compliant with local legislation. In the meantime, 50 multinationals (representing over 500,000 employees) have chosen our ADP GlobalView® service, enabling us to gain invaluable experience.

Schindler had to go through different phases before finding the right approach as multi-country outsourcing carries specific challenges. But there was never any doubt about opting for the outsourcing model because payroll and HR transaction processes are not Schindler’s core business. “For us, outsourcing is a must" Jürgen Klingenberg, Schindler Program Manager EU-Payroll Project says.
Schindler notably designated a leadership team to reflect the organization’s various cultures in order to maximize communication and share experience among countries.

Now, with ADP GlobalView®, Schindler will benefit from a full range of indicators enabling it to monitor the quality of service delivered by our local teams and regional shared service centre on a continuous basis. “This level of security was a critical factor determining our selection of an HRO provider”, Douglas Else-Jack, Schindler Corporate Purchasing Vice-President, told me last month.
